Hi parents!
Here are some important updates.
Hi parents,
Well we are here in the final stretch of your child's third grade year. This week will be spent preparing for the Milestone test (ahh!). Our first round of tests begin the next week on Tuesday (4/16). On Tuesday the 16th they will take ELA Part 1, the writing test. This is the most important day of testing. On Wednesday and Thursday we will take ELA Part 2 and 3. We will take the Math Milestone for two days the following week. I have two requests: 1) Please send in a pack of sugar free mint flavored gum. Research shows that students do better on tests if they are chewing something minty. 2) Please write an encouraging letter to your child that they will read on the first day of testing. You can put it in their Thursday Folder and I will put it into an envelope for them. The end of the school year is the busiest time of the entire year. I will be writing more often with calendar updates, awards ceremony information, etc. I hope you've all had a wonderful Spring Break! Hi parents! Here are some important updates.
Hi parents!
I apologize for my lack of blog updates and I hope you're all doing well. The kids and I have been as busy as ever learning about fractions, opinion writing, North American explorers, and reading Peter Pan. Please continue reading for some important updates.
Parents,
Our school is involved in a Prodigy competition. The class who answers the most questions will win a pizza party and a 90 day Prodigy membership. Prodigy is a math program that the students LOVE. Please see the letter that was sent home today (or possibly tomorrow) that includes your students login and password. Thanks! Hello parents! I hope you've had a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving break.
Here's a couple of important reminders for this week:
Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th. There is no school for students.
Our Annual Thanksgiving luncheons are this week. Wednesday is for 2nd, 4th and 5th grades and Thursday is for kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grades. Lunch is at the classes regularly scheduled time. Please check with your child's teacher if you are uncertain about the time. Lunch will be $3.75 for each guest. We are also looking for volunteers to help at the luncheons. If you are available please email Mrs. Daves at [email protected]. Our next parent workshop is Morning Math on Thursday, November 15th 8am-9am. Please RSVP on ParentVue or return your form to your child's teacher if you plan to attend. This week we are continuing the distributive property in math, main idea in informational text in reading, continuing fossils in science and the students are researching an animal for informational writing. Please see the two following posts for some cute class pictures! |
